A Dragons' Den Success

Providing naturally-derived and organic toiletries for babies and children, Good Bubble is the brainchild of Amy Wordsworth. A mother herself, Amy knows just how delicate young skin is, and she decided to create a range that was suitable for sensitive and newborn skin, only using gentle and skin-loving ingredients. However, as is the case with every good business idea, you need more than a vision - you need investment. This is something that Amy was able to secure by appearing on the popular BBC TV show Dragon’s Den. Read on to discover more about her experience in the Den.

A Dragons' Den Success

If you are a fan of Dragons’ Den, you may recognise Amy, as she featured in Series 13, on Episode 6. The episode aired on August 16th 2016. As is the case for anyone who enters the Den, it wasn’t easy. No one ever breezes through, and Amy experienced hurdles in the pitch, with a dizzy spell during the grilling. However, she was able to fight back, showing her passion for Good Bubble and her warrior spirit. In the end, she was able to secure a £60,000 investment from Deborah Meaden. Deborah is an on-going advocate for the brand today.

Here is what Deborah had to say:

“The natural formulations and the fun element were a big part of Good Bubble’s appeal. For me, it’s also as much about the people as it is the products. I was quickly impressed by Amy’s level of research and knowledge of her market. The energetic passion with which she has built the brand coupled with how she carried herself in the Den, and came back fighting from a tricky moment cinched it for me”

About Deborah Meaden

If you don’t watch the show, you may be wondering who Deborard Meaden is. She has been a Dragon since the third series of the programme! Back then, she was the only female investor on the programme, yet this has since changed. She has invested in 63 businesses during her 14 series on the show to date, and she was certainly excited about the opportunity to invest in Good Bubble.

Deborah has always been a hard worker. She bagged her first paid job when she was just eight-years-old, leading pony rides along Minehead seafront. She has had a number of successful businesses over the years, starting off in the retail and leisure sectors. She joined a family holiday park operator known as Weststar in 1992. When the buyout of this business was complete, her stake was estimated to be £19,000,000.

As is the case with anyone who steps into the Den, Amy had a bumpy ride. However, unlike many, she was able to secure investment. Since Deborah stepped in, Good Bubble has only gone from strength-to-strength, as Amy has had the investment she required to take the business to the next level. Today, Good Bubble supplies parents and guardians all over the world with the best baby bath products they need to protect their children’s precious skin.
